Getting to School

Regular School Bus Services

Due to growing number of students, the School closely monitors the bus load and communicate regularly with the Ministry of Education to ensure our students travel safely to and from school each day.

Please be aware that the buses may be full at the start of the year. The New Zealand Transport Agency determines the legal loading limit for the school buses, and this load includes standing passengers. The bus companies and the Ministry of Education will manage this situation.

Beachlands and Maraetai

Howick College has contacted the Ministry of Education with regards to increasing the number of buses provided for our students from Beachlands and Maraetai as we consider that, based on our current roll, the number of buses provided is insufficient. We understand the ongoing issues regarding the Ministry of Education supplied services and share the concerns of our school community. We will continue to do all that we can to advocate for a safe service for our students.

All Beachlands and Maraetai buses are Howick and Eastern Buses supplied by the Ministry of Education and begin the runs at 7.45am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday mornings due to later start, Beachlands buses begin runs at 8.15am and Mataretai leaves at 7.45am as usual.

Clevedon

All Clevedon buses begin the runs at 7.45am on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. On Wednesday mornings due to later start, Clevedon buses begin runs at 8.15am.

Auckland Transport - public buses covering Botany Town Centre, Dannemora, Redcastle Dr and Flat Bush.

Clevedon, Clevedon/Papakura, The Gardens

Tickets to be purchased from the driver.

Murphy's Buses - covering Wattle Downs, Aspiring Ave and Everglade Drive.
