New Deputy Principal Appointed
Following the departure of Ms Tina Filipo to James Cook College, the Board and management began a thorough process to find her replacement. After an extensive search that attracted a very strong field of applicants, the Board last week announced the appointment of Ms Michelle Heather into the role of Deputy Principal.
Ms Heather, who is currently Associate Principal at Onehunga High School, brings vast experience in senior leadership across all aspects of secondary education. This includes stepping in as Acting Principal for extended periods of time on several occasions. She has also led curriculum development, human resources, timetable, and student leadership initiatives.
Ms Heather, who is of Ngati Raukawa descent and holds a Masters of Educational Leadership (first class honours), is a student focussed leader who works alongside teachers and learners to ensure that the best outcomes possible are achieved. We look forward to welcoming her as a valued member of our senior leadership team at the beginning of Term 3.
