Sport
Sport at Howick College is integral to our students' social and physical development. Our extensive programme reinforces our supportive learning environment and 4C values: courtesy, commitment, curiosity, and courage.
Participation in sport improves physical health and wellbeing while significantly enhancing academic and social outcomes, building both physical and mental strength on and off the field.
Our Programme
We offer a wide range of summer and winter sporting codes for all abilities—from social participation to high-performing premier teams competing nationally and internationally in codes such as Rugby Sevens, Netball, Rowing, and Underwater Hockey.
Students develop new skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility while pursuing continuous improvement and personal excellence.
Howick College participates in New Zealand Secondary Schools Summer and Winter Tournament weeks, where schools compete for national championship titles.
All students are encouraged to participate in sport. If the sport you play is not listed, please see the sports office to see if there are any events/competitions you can enter into.
