Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC)

Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC) provides students with hands-on learning experiences beyond the school grounds. These activities bring curriculum learning to life and help develop practical skills, resilience, and independence.

Examples of EOTC Activities

  • Subject excursions (e.g., museum visits, historical sites, university visits)

  • Outdoor education programmes (e.g., tramping, camping, kayaking)

  • Cultural experiences

  • Service learning projects in the community

  • Environmental and conservation activities

These experiences complement classroom learning and provide students with valuable opportunities to apply their knowledge in authentic contexts while developing important life skills.

All EOTC activities are carefully planned with student safety and wellbeing as top priorities, following Ministry of Education guidelines and school safety procedures.

What is EOTC?

EOTC includes subject-specific excursions, outdoor education experiences, school camps, and adventure activities. Students engage with real-world environments, building confidence and strengthening connections with their peers and teachers.
