Become a Homestay Family
Who are we looking for?
Howick College is looking for warm, welcoming families to host international students for one term, two terms, or a full year. Host families receive $380 per week, per student.
We are seeking families who will genuinely include their student in everyday kiwi life — sharing meals, showing them around Auckland, and making them feel truly at home. The ideal homestay family is available, engaged, and enthusiastic about sharing New Zealand culture and lifestyle.
To ensure our students are well supported, we ask that:

Your home culture, food, and lifestyle reflects kiwi values and traditions

You are willing to spend quality time with your student and help them experience all that Auckland has to offer
We understand that welcoming an international student into your home is a big decision, and we are here to support you every step of the way. We will provide you with all the information you need to feel confident and prepared.
To help us find the best match for your family, we ask you to complete an application form outlining your household and interests. We do our best to pair students and families with similar interests and lifestyles.
