Other Student Services
The Howick College library supports student learning across all curriculum areas by providing printed and digital resources appropriate to their needs, interests, and abilities.
The library catalogue, Access-It, is available 24/7 and provides access to over 7,000 curated websites and electronic documents in addition to the print collection.Binding / Laminating Service
Assignment binding: $2.00 – $2.50 (depending on thickness)
Laminating: A4 ($1.00) and A3 ($2.00)
Copying / PrintingOne color photocopier/printer is available for student use (others located throughout the school). Students receive a $5.00 printing credit at the start of Terms 1, 2, and 3. Additional printing credits can be purchased at the school cashier's office.
Library staff can explain how copying and printing facilities work.
Note: To print from personal devices to school photocopiers/printers, students need to download appropriate software. Instructions available here.

Student Office

Students arriving late must sign in at the Student Office before going to class and provide a note or email from their parent/caregiver explaining their lateness. Students without a valid reason will incur a lunchtime reflection.
For appointments during school hours, students must be signed out by a parent/caregiver at the Student Office before leaving school grounds (including Year 13 students). Parents unable to sign out in person should email note@howick.school.nz explaining the appointment reason.
If leaving during class, students should have a note from their parent/caregiver to show the teacher.
Students feeling unwell must go to the Health Centre for assessment.Students requiring a locker must collect a Locker Contract form from the Student Office. Submit the completed form and annual fee ($40 per year or $10 per term) to the cashier, then a locker will be issued.
Lockers must be cleared at the end of each year. Uncleared lockers will have locks removed and property disposed of.Report lost personal property to the Student Office with a detailed description. Staff will contact you if the item is found. Unnamed items will not be held indefinitely.
Students are provided with an ID card at the beginning of each year. For replacements, pay the replacement cost to the cashier, then order a new card from the Student Office.
Premier sports team members can hire a school blazer from the Student Office for $70 for the season ($135 to purchase new from NZ Uniforms). Blazers must be returned at the end of the season.

Our Careers Department offers a well-resourced, professional service to help students explore their future pathways. We provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences that enable students to make informed decisions about their careers and tertiary education, including programmes such as Gateway, STAR Courses, and MIT Trade Academy. We also offer helpful resources for parents to support their teens through career planning and decision-making.
