Citizenship is one of the 3 C Values that are encouraged at Howick College. Participation in events such as the World Vision 40 Hour Famine and Blood Bank provide students with the opportunity to consider the needs of others and contribute to their national and global communities.

Students are also have the oportunitiy to show community spirit in serving as librarians, school hosts or Enviro Group.

Service also builds awareness of different cultures, values and perspectives. A new service opportunity created in 2012 was enthusiastically taken up by a group of Howick College students. The Intergenerational Programme, inconjunction with Age Concern, paired students with residents of Howick Baptist Rest Home for weekly visits. The aim of this programme was to share stories, memories and friendship between the younger and older generations.
