Morning Tea With The Principal

As part of our desire to hear the student voice and to recognise students who exhibit our core values of Courtesy, Commitment, Curiosity and Courage, Mr Ropati and other members of the Senior Leadership Team, meet with selected students on a weekly basis.

Over an informal morning tea (also known as a 'Ropa-tea'), students are encouraged to share their ideas and impressions relating to new initiatives and school life in general. Both Mr Ropati and the Senior Leadership Team enjoy this opportunity to chat with, and get to know,  the students.

Students' school achievements are celebrated regularly at all levels at Howick College and culminate in our various Honours ceremonies in Term 4. These include:

  • Sports Awards evening
  • Oscars - Expressive Arts awards
  • House Honours
  • Junior Honours
  • Senior Honours

Our students also achieve Regional, National or International success in many areas of their lives, including their activities outside of school. We believe these successes deserve to be recognised and acknowledged; usually this will occur in a House assembly, or where possible, with a meeting with the principal to personally congratulate these students.

To let us know about these achievements, please send an email your child's House Dean or to
