The SGCNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare competition was held at Botany Downs College last weekend and was won by the team from Howick College. Their 15 minute Macbeth piece was intense and slightly disturbing, with cast members all in white and covered in stage blood.

Cupids Day SuccessMonday, 20 March 2017
Thanks to the generous support of the Howick College community, Bacot House raised $490 for St Johns Ambulance with their recent Cupids Day event. The Bacot team sold chocolates and roses which were delivered to staff and students.

Well done to our Kapa Haka group on their wonderful performance at the ASB PolyFest this week. Associate Principal Ms Addison and Deputy Principal Mrs Lescher attended the event and were impressed by the group's passionate and inspiring performance. NCEA Scholarships 2016Sunday, 12 February 2017
Nineteen NCEA Scholarship passes were gained by Howick College senior students for 2016. Of those, three were achieved by one student, seven came from History students and two scholarships were achieved by students not yet in Year 13. We are proud of these impressive results which are due to hard work and commitment from both the students and their teachers.

Our Senior Underwater Hockey teams finished off their season competing at the Nationals Champs in last week's Tournament Week.

Excellence for Latin
Congratulations to Ashley Chang and Yiu Mun Lee. They both have gained Excellence for NCEA Level 1 Latin. They both attend the school's Latin group which meets at lunchtimes and studied for NCEA in after school sessions with Mr Porteous. Well done!
