Students attending upcoming camps must dress warmly! With the current weather being wet and cold, having the correct gear can very quickly become the difference between an enjoyable camp experience and a not so enjoyable one.

Today, Assistant Principal Mr Thomas visited the yr 9 Bacot camp at Waharau and although things are going smoothly despite challenging weather conditions, he  witnessed too many students wearing cotton t-shirts and hoodies.

Cotton is not appropriate for the outdoors. It absorbs water and takes a long time to dry, therefore increasing the risk of sickness when temperatures drop and/or the wind gets up.

Please pack plenty of fleece jerseys, thermal polyprop / breathable fabric layers, and a thoroughly waterproof jacket. The safety of your child is of paramount importance so please help us to help them have the most fulfilling camp experience possible.
