Entrance Fees

In Term 2, all students will be charged entry fees for NCEA. This fee is an NZQA fee, not a school fee - Howick College acts as an agent for NZQA and forwards this payment onto them. The entry fee covers both internal and external standards and must be paid in order for students to receive Records of Learning and Certificates from NZQA.

Currently the NCEA fees are:

Domestic students: $76.70 (incl GST)

- entry for all NCEA standards for Level 1, 2 or 3.

- Scholarship level subjects are $30 per subject.

International fee-paying students: $383.30 (incl GST)

- entry to all NCEA standards for Level 1,2 or 3.

- Scholarship level subjects are $102.20 per subject.

** Payment for 2019 NCEA must be made by: 16 AUGUST 2019.

If payment is not made by the deadline an additional late fee of $50 may be charged.

If you have any queries, please contact Mrs Werner (,  phone 534-4492, extn 824)

** Financial Assistance - if students cannot afford to pay the above fees, they may apply for financial assistance. To qualify for assistance, the student's parents or caregivers must meet one of the following conditions:

  • be receiving a Work and Income or Study Link Benefit
  • have a Community Services Card
  • have joint family income that qualifies for a Community Services Card
  • have two or more children entered as candidates for the year with fees totalling more than $200
