Global Mild to Moderate Learning Needs

Students who, on the basis of good quality assessment information, have been identified as not achieving or at risk of not achieving or have special needs.

Year 9
Students who have global learning difficulties are taught by teachers trained, or currently training, in special education. Learner Support classes have a smaller number of students that mainstream classes. They are supported by teacher aides. They follow a differentiated curriculum and complete differentiated assessments. They attend mainstream option classes, but they are required to complete a two school-term booster class in literacy.

Year 10
The Year 10 students also follow a differentiated curriculum and they complete differentiated assessments. Most of their teachers have special education training and they are supported in their learning by teacher aides.
