Art Practical

Year 9 and 10 is a general course that covers all the basic skills of drawing, design, painting and sculpture.

It involves Art History at all levels and is a general introduction necessary for Year 11.

Painting

A specific skill-based course at Year 12 and 13 looking at Art History and how to develop ideas in painting. At Year 12, painting is taught over two terms and covers only Achievement Standard 2.3 , which is externally assessed.

Photography

Year 12 Photography covers the necessary skills to use a pinhole camera, to operate a 35mm SRL camera, and to develop and process photos in black and white. It also looks at the history of black and white photography and contemporary photography practice.

 

At year 13 this is developed to a higher level with students having the opportunity to establish their own style and practice based on the study of other artists and artworks.
