Careers and Transition

Howick College provides Careers and Transition Education to Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students.

The aim of Careers & Transition Education is to:-

Provide appropriate career information and guidance for these students.

Provide specific career guidance for those students who have been identified by the school as being at risk of leaving school unprepared for the transition to the workplace or further education/training.

This is achieved by students:-

  • Studying relevant Unit Standards in class.

  • Having personal careers counseling.

  • Attending relevant expos and institute open days.

  • Attending seminars presented at school by tertiary and industry personnel.

  • Attending the Howick College Careers Evening.
