TV Presenter and Journalist

Aziz Al-Sa'afin left Howick College in 2007 and gained a Significant Student Scholarship to AUT where he completed a double major in Film and Television and minors in Journalism, and Radio.


While completing his degree, Aziz was also working as a production assistant on the children's show Sticky TV.  He then 'found his way' into the newsroom at TV3 and is now co-presenting The AM Show.

Black Cap

Past student Mitch McClenaghan is a name to watch out for in the New Zealand Black Caps cricket team. He made an impressive start in his Black Caps career on tour in South Africa and in the Twenty20 series. He also graduated from Auckland University with a commerce degree.


In his last year at Howick College (2004) Mitch captained the Rugby First XV and was a member of the First XI Cricket team from 2002 - 2004. This team was in the NZSS Gillette Cup Top Four in 2003.

TVNZ Reporter and Journalist

Jessica Mutch gained a Bachelor of Communications (majoring in Journalism) from AUT and joined TVNZ in 2008 as their Deputy Political Editor covering many political events and elections.


She spent a few years based in London as the TVNZ European Correspondent, reporting news from all area of Europe and is now back in New Zealand reporting on local issues.
