Jubilee Day 2014

Foundation Alumni

It was wonderful to see over 300 former students and staff of Howick College gathered on Saturday 6 Sept to celebrate the school's 40th Jubilee. The day began at 2pm with open tours for alumni to reminisce and re-visit their old classrooms, and enjoy a Devonshire Tea from our Hospitality students.

For many alumni from our early years, it was the first time they had been back, and they enjoyed seeing how much we have grown and changed over the years. In the evening, the reunion continued in the library where alumni enjoyed catching up and reconnecting.

Associate principal Mr Ian Morrison started the evening off with the official welcome and our celebration cake was cut by foundation student Mr Anthony Searle, Mrs Hope Ingham and foundation staff member (and also current staff member) Mr Greg Hawkins.

A big thank you goes to all who helped in organising and preparing for the day: the Jubilee committee, Mr Pearce and the property team, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Copestake and their hospitality students, Mrs King and the library team, Mr Douglas and Mr Cheng, Mr Harman,Mrs Wright and her student hosts, the Howick Lions, Basalt Howick and South Auckland Taxis and many more.
